TAMPA, Fla. – The Tampa Bay area is settling into a classic Florida weather pattern this week, characterized by high temperatures and predictable afternoon storms. Residents should prepare for plenty of sunshine today, with clear skies and a high reaching near 92°F.
A light north wind between 3 and 6 mph will offer little relief from the heat. Tonight will remain mostly clear as temperatures dip to a low of around 70°F, with winds shifting from the northwest to the east after midnight.
As the weekend kicks off on Saturday, the heat will intensify slightly to a high of 94°F. While the morning looks clear, clouds will increase throughout the day. There is a slight chance of showers starting around 1 p.m., followed by a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m.

These storms are expected to taper off by 8 p.m., leaving a mostly cloudy night with a low of 71°F.
Sunday and Monday will follow a similar rhythm. Highs will hover around 93°F under mostly sunny skies, but the humidity will likely fuel daily 30% to 40% chances of afternoon thunderstorms, primarily after 2 p.m. Overnight lows will remain consistent at 70°F.
Looking ahead to Tuesday and the middle of the week, the forecast shows no signs of cooling down. Daily highs are expected to stay pegged at 93°F through Thursday. Each afternoon carries a steady 30% to 40% chance of rain and thunder, typical for this time of year in the region.
Evening activities may see occasional interruptions from these storms, though most precipitation is expected to clear out before midnight each night.
