Tampa Bay Area Set To Sizzle As Temperatures Climb Toward The 90s

TAMPA, Fla. – Residents across the Tampa Bay area should prepare for a significant warming trend this week as a stretch of quiet, sunny weather gives way to summer-like heat. According to the latest National Weather Service (NWS) regional forecast, daily highs will steadily climb from the low 80s today to near-record levels by next Friday.

The weekend is kicking off with ideal conditions, featuring a high of 80 degrees today under clear skies and light, shifting winds. Tonight will remain cool with a low of 52 degrees.

Sunday follows a similar pattern, though the mercury is expected to tick upward to 82 degrees. This dry, stable air mass will hold through Monday, keeping humidity low and skies mostly clear with a high of 81.

A slight shift in the pattern arrives Tuesday afternoon. While the high will jump to a warmer 86 degrees, a 20 percent chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms enters the forecast after 2 p.m. Any activity is expected to be brief, with only a 10 percent chance of lingering rain before 8 p.m. Tuesday night.

The remainder of the week looks consistently dry and increasingly hot. Highs are forecast to hit 86 degrees on Wednesday and 87 on Thursday.

By Friday, the region will see full sunshine and a peak temperature of 88 degrees. Overnight lows throughout the week will gradually rise as well, moving from the low 50s this weekend to a more humid 61 degrees by Wednesday night.
