TAMPA, Fla. – Residents across the Tampa Bay area will see a significant temperature spike this week as a stretch of dry, sunny weather pushes highs into the low 90s before a shift in the atmosphere brings rain chances back for the weekend.
The immediate outlook for Monday night remains pleasant and mostly clear, with an overnight low of 63 degrees and light winds from the east-northeast.
However, the heat arrives on Tuesday. Expect a bright, sunny day with a high near 92 degrees. Conditions will stay consistent into Tuesday night, remaining mostly clear with a low around 66.
Wednesday maintains the warm trend with a high near 90 degrees. Morning calms will give way to a light west wind between 5 and 9 mph. By Wednesday night, temperatures will dip to 67 degrees under mostly clear skies.

Thursday offers a slight reprieve from the peak heat, though it remains warm. The high is forecasted at 87 degrees under mostly sunny skies. Drivers and boaters should take note of increasing west winds, which are expected to reach 6 to 11 mph with gusts as high as 18 mph. By early Friday morning, patchy fog is expected to develop after 4 a.m., with an overnight low of 66.
The fog will likely linger until about 8 a.m. on Friday. Once it clears, the heat returns quickly, with Friday’s high climbing back to 91 degrees. The evening will bring partly cloudy skies and a low of 65.
The dry spell is scheduled to break as the weekend begins. On Saturday, the region faces a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Despite the rain potential, it will remain mostly sunny and breezy with a high of 88. Rain chances increase to 40 percent on Saturday night, accompanied by mostly cloudy skies and a low of 65.
The most significant chance for precipitation arrives on Sunday. Forecasters are calling for a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. This increased cloud cover and rain will provide a notable cooling effect, keeping Sunday’s high near a more temperate 82 degrees.
