TAMPA, FL – As the final sun sets on 2025, Tampa Bay is preparing for a sprawling, city-wide send-off to the old year. From the polished rooftops of Water Street to the sandy banks of the Hillsborough River, venues across the region have rolled out their itineraries for December 31, promising everything from family-friendly balloon drops to high-energy electronic beats.

For those looking to catch the region’s signature fireworks displays, the waterfront remains the primary draw. Jackson’s Bistro Bar & Sushi is once again teaming up with Friends of the Riverwalk for a “prime VIP” viewing experience, featuring a midnight prosecco toast and multiple party areas. Just down the river, Armature Works is hosting a musical showcase headlined by Soffi Tukker and Austin Millz, with the party running until 2 a.m.

Those preferring to be on the water rather than next to it have two distinct options this year. The Yacht Starship is offering a gourmet dining cruise that culminates in a fireworks view from the open-air top deck, while the Pirate Water Taxi is running a tighter, one-hour “Fireworks Cruise” starting at 11:30 p.m., complete with a champagne toast.

Families looking to celebrate without the late-night curfew have several daytime alternatives. ZooTampa is hosting hourly countdowns between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. in the African Circle, while the Glazer Children’s Museum is offering “themed crafts” and balloon drops designed to synchronize with midnight in other time zones. Busch Gardens offers a hybrid experience, mixing their holiday “Christmas Town” events during the day with a major fireworks spectacular after dark.

Sports fans have a unique midday option at Raymond James Stadium, where the Iowa Hawkeyes will face the Vanderbilt Commodores in the ReliaQuest Bowl. Kickoff is set for noon, offering a spirited start to the holiday.

The city’s dining and nightlife scene is leaning heavily into themed experiences for the transition to 2026. Nostalgia is on the menu at Ash & Alter Ego, where a Y2K-themed bash will feature early-2000s music and a suggestion for “low-rise jeans.” Meanwhile, Hotel Haya in Ybor City is throwing back even further with “Midnight Tropicana,” a vintage Florida nightlife event inspired by the social clubs of the past.

For those seeking a more exclusive atmosphere, Jekyll in Hyde Park is opening its “velvet curtain” for the Swann Supper Club, an invitation-only affair. In contrast, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is going big, bringing in DJ Afrojack for a massive pool party that kicks off at 9 p.m.

The trend of rooftop galas continues to dominate the Midtown and Water Street districts. The Tampa EDITION is hosting DJ Zeemuffin for a skyline celebration, while Sal Y Mar Rooftop Bar is staging a “Masquerade Gala” seven stories up, featuring a midnight balloon drop. Meat Market is also adopting the mask theme with “The Forbidden Ball,” a mysterious four-course dining event.

Other notable celebrations include:

  • American Social: Promising the “largest fireworks show” in downtown with an open bar and waterfront views.
  • JW Marriott Water Street: Hosting “NYElectric” with five open bars and two party zones.
  • Boulon Brasserie: Transforming into a “Cabaret Electrique” with a fusion of Parisian themes and live entertainment.
  • Mandarin Heights: Keeping the doors open until 3 a.m. with craft cocktails and live DJ sets.
  • Predalina: Offering a sophisticated five-course menu with wine pairings.
  • Whiskey Joe’s: Hosting a beach party with the Jorge Valentine Band, suitable for families.
  • CW’s Gin Joint: Featuring a chef-curated dinner followed by an after-party with raw oysters and cocktails.

With events stretching from the beaches to the bay, officials and venue organizers are advising residents to secure tickets early, as many premier viewing spots and dining packages are expected to sell out prior to New Year’s Eve.
