TAMPA, Fla. – Drivers navigating the span between Pinellas and Hillsborough counties will need to ease off the gas starting next week.
The Florida Department of Transportation is implementing a uniform 55 mph speed limit across two major construction zones: the Howard Frankland Bridge and the stretch of I-275 running from 38th Avenue North to 4th Street North.

Officials state the reduction is designed to create a consistent traffic flow and increase safety throughout the ongoing projects. Motorists are urged to watch for new signage and remain alert while traveling through these active work corridors.
