Anyone spending time outdoors can expect heat index values to climb as high as 103 degrees. As night falls, storm chances drop to 30 percent before 8 p.m., leaving partly cloudy skies and a low around 78 degrees.
The heat ticks up a notch on Saturday, with afternoon highs reaching near 96 degrees and the heat index hitting a weekly peak of 104 degrees. The afternoon storm probability rises to 50 percent, bringing a general expectation of a tenth to a quarter-inch of rain, though isolated thunderstorms could produce higher totals.
Saturday night mirrors the previous evening, with a 30 percent storm risk before 8 p.m. and a low near 78 degrees. Sunday maintains a similar rhythm, featuring a 40 percent chance of late-day storms, a high near 96 degrees, and a low dipping to around 80 degrees under mostly clear night skies.
Heading into the workweek, deep moisture will push precipitation chances even higher. Monday starts hot and sunny with a high near 96 degrees, but rain and thunderstorm chances spike to 60 percent after 2 p.m. That 60 percent probability lingers into Monday night, especially before 8 p.m., with lingering showers possible until 2 a.m.
Tuesday marks the wettest projected day of the period, carrying a 70 percent chance of precipitation. Showers are possible as early as 8 a.m. on Tuesday, becoming highly likely after 2 p.m., which will cap afternoon highs slightly lower at around 93 degrees. Tuesday night keeps a 60 percent chance of rain before midnight.
The active weather pattern begins a slight downward trend by midweek. Both Wednesday and Thursday will bring a steady 50 percent chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. High temperatures are forecast to hit 93 degrees on Wednesday and 94 degrees on Thursday, with overnight lows holding steady at 78 degrees. Light, variable winds will persist throughout the outer days of the forecast period, shifting slightly to the west during the afternoons.
