Tampa Bicyclist Seriously Injured In Thursday Morning Collision On State Road 60

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A 58-year-old Tampa man was hospitalized with serious injuries following a vehicle collision with a bicycle early Thursday morning in Hillsborough County.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:50 AM on July 2, 2026, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

State troopers reported that a 71-year-old Oldsmar man was driving a Nissan Frontier westbound on State Road 60. At the same time, the 58-year-old bicyclist was traveling eastbound along the westbound shoulder of the highway.

At the driveway entrance to 8444 East Adamo Drive, the bicyclist proceeded eastbound across the driveway path. Concurrently, the driver of the Nissan Frontier turned into the driveway access, striking the bicyclist.

The bicyclist sustained serious injuries in the collision. First responders treated him at the scene before transporting him to a local hospital for medical treatment. The Florida Highway Patrol has not released further details as the investigation continues.
