TAMPA, Fla. – The Tampa Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance following a fatal hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a pedestrian late Monday evening.

The tragic incident occurred at approximately 8:00 p.m. near the intersection of N 50th St. and E 30th Ave. According to police, a woman in her mid-40s was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on N. 50th St.

The initial striking vehicle, described as a gray SUV, immediately fled the scene, leaving the victim in the roadway.

The victim was subsequently struck by a second vehicle. However, the driver immediately stopped, called 911, and remained at the scene to fully cooperate with responding officers. That driver is not facing charges at this time.
