TAMPA, Fla. – A man wanted for double murder in the Riveredge Drive stabbing homicide has been arrested in Maryland.
Following a double homicide that took place in the early hours of November 26, 2023, the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested 25-year-old Jean Pierre Ojeda Salazar in Maryland on November 27, 2023.
On November 26, 2023, at approximately 8:53 a.m., officers responded to the 14000 block of Riveredge Drive about a 14-year-old Hispanic female who sustained serious injuries as a result of multiple stab wounds.

Upon arrival, officers located two victims: a 35-year-old Hispanic female who sustained similar injuries and the juvenile.
On scene, the adult victim was pronounced deceased. The juvenile victim was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.
According to detectives, Salazar fatally injured both victims following a verbal altercation with the adult victim. Immediately following the incident, Salazar left the residence in a white sedan, that he later abandoned.
Through investigative means, detectives were able to determine that Salazar fled to a residence in Maryland where he was later taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Capitol Area Fugitive Task Force.
“Mourning the loss of a loved one, after their lives were taken in such a tragic manner, is unfathomable. During this difficult time, we will continue to provide support to the families of the victims involved,” said Chief Lee Bercaw. “Salazar’s arrest proves that our detectives will stop at nothing to ensure that those who commit a crime, especially one as heinous as this one, are held accountable.”

Salazar was charged with One (1) Felony Count of Murder In the First Degree With a Weapon, One (1) Felony Count of Murder In the Second Degree With a Weapon, One (1) Felony Count of Aggravated Assault With Deadly Weapon.
Salazar is being held at Maryland’s Montgomery County Correctional Facility and awaiting transport.
