PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — A Tampa man was taken to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after his concrete truck overturned on State Road 589 (Veterans Expressway) during slick road conditions, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 3:30 p.m. along the southbound lanes of SR-589 near State Road 52 in Pasco County.
State troopers reported that the 55-year-old driver was heading south when he lost control of the heavy commercial vehicle on the wet roadway. The truck rotated off the highway onto the outside shoulder and flipped over.
Emergency responders transported the driver to a local hospital for treatment. Troopers noted his injuries were not life-threatening.
No other vehicles were involved in the rollover, and authorities have not released the driver’s identity.
