TAMPA, Fla. – United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe today announced the unsealing of a criminal complaint on Friday, charging Tampa man Robert Logan Shoecraft, III, with interstate communication of a threat to injure and kill.

The 35-year-old Tampa man faces a maximum penalty of five years in federal prison if he is convicted on this charge.

The case was investigated jointly by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the United States Capitol Police, and the United States Secret Service, and Assistant United States Attorney Lindsey Schmidt and Special Assistant United States Attorney Joseph Wheeler, III will prosecute it.

According to the complaint details, Shoecraft allegedly made two separate threatening communications targeting federal officials or their family members. The first alleged incident occurred in May 2024, when Shoecraft called the office of a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives and left an expletive-laden voicemail. The message reportedly included direct threats such as, “we’re coming for you, we’re gonna fing kill you,” and “we have fing guns too, you stupid c***.”

The second alleged threat took place on October 31, 2025.

On this date, Shoecraft is accused of sending a direct message through social media to the wife of a federal official who serves as an Advisor to the President of the United States.

This message contained strong political rhetoric and threats of violence, stating, “You and your husband will be dragged through the streets like Mussolini and his b**** after all this is done. This is our country, and they will make sure you and your husband suffer for what you’ve done. You have no idea what’s in store for you.”
