TAMPA, Fla. – A 25-year-old Tampa man lost his life early Tuesday morning following a violent multi-vehicle collision on I-75. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 6:00 AM on March 3, 2026, in the northbound lanes of the interstate.
The sequence of events began when the Tampa man, driving a Dodge 1500, was traveling in the outside lane and overtook a Chevy box truck driven by a 35-year-old Valrico man.
The Dodge collided with the rear of the box truck, sending the larger vehicle onto the highway shoulder. The impact caused the Dodge to overturn multiple times, at which point the driver was ejected from the cabin.

After being thrown into the center lanes of the highway, the driver was struck by a northbound tractor-trailer driven by a 50-year-old man from Riverview.
Authorities confirmed the Tampa man sustained fatal injuries and passed away at the scene.
No other injuries were reported by the other drivers involved in the crash. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the initial collision is currently being handled by state troopers.
