HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Detectives with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office took a 43-year-old Tampa man into custody Friday following a digital forensics investigation that uncovered a massive cache of illegal material.
Matthew Farmer was arrested at his home on April 17, 2026, and now faces 100 individual counts of possession of child pornography.
The arrest came after investigators arrived at Farmer’s residence to execute a court-authorized search warrant.

During the sweep of the property, deputies seized an array of electronic devices, including computers and external storage hardware.
According to officials, the material found on the devices led to the initial 100 charges, though the investigation is far from over.
Farmer was transported to the Hillsborough County Jail without incident. While he currently faces 100 felony counts, authorities noted that the forensic examination of the seized electronics is ongoing.
