TAMPA, Fla. – A late-night attempt to cross the interstate ended in tragedy Wednesday when a 35-year-old Tampa man was struck and killed by two different vehicles. The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene on southbound I-75 near milepost 267 at approximately 11:30 PM.
According to state troopers, the pedestrian walked into the southbound lanes directly into the path of oncoming traffic.
He was first hit by a Nissan Sentra driven by a 57-year-old woman from Sun City Center. Immediately following the initial impact, a second vehicle—a Lincoln MKZ driven by a 20-year-old Lakeland woman—also struck the man.

The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not released the name of the victim or indicated why he was attempting to cross the highway on foot. Both drivers involved in the collision were traveling southbound at the time of the accident.
