TAMPA, Fla. – The Tampa community is celebrating the return of a hero as Master Police Officer Jordan Laupert, who was shot in the line of duty, was released from the hospital late Thursday evening. MPO Laupert is now recovering at home with his family.

The officer, a respected member of the force, was met with an outpouring of support from colleagues, first responders, and the public following the incident. In a heartfelt message shared upon his release, MPO Laupert expressed his profound gratitude.

“I want to thank everyone for their concern, support, and prayers,” Laupert said. “I’m truly grateful for my fellow officers, Tampa Fire Rescue, and the TGH staff who were there for me in those first critical moments. And to the entire community, your genuine concern for my safety and your well wishes have meant the world to me and my family. We can’t thank you enough.”

The shooting remains an active and ongoing investigation.
