Tampa Motorcyclist Dead After Collision With Land O’ Lakes Driver In Wesley Chapel

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – A Tuesday night crash at the intersection of County Line Road and Maximilian Drive has claimed the life of a young motorcyclist. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the incident occurred at approximately 9:20 PM on April 21, 2026.

According to investigators, a 24-year-old Tampa man was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle eastbound on County Line Road at a high rate of speed.

At the same time, a 41-year-old man from Land O’ Lakes was driving a Hyundai van northbound on Maximilian Drive. As the van reached the intersection, the driver attempted to turn left, placing the vehicle directly in the path of the oncoming motorcycle.

The Kawasaki struck the van, resulting in serious injuries for both men. Emergency crews arrived shortly after and transported both drivers to a local hospital.

Florida Highway Patrol later confirmed that the 24-year-old Tampa man passed away from his injuries. The current medical status of the Land O’ Lakes driver has not been released. Authorities are continuing to investigate the specifics of the fatal encounter.
