Tampa PD Needs Public Help To Identify Robbery Suspect

TAMPA, Fla. – Tampa Police Detectives have been working to develop leads in an armed robbery that took place in October and are now asking for help from the community.

The victim, who is deaf and mute, was standing in the 8300 block of N. 40th St waiting for a bus in the early morning hours of October 13.

The suspect approached the victim, pulled a black handgun from his waistband, and used it to strike the victim in the head multiple times. The suspect then grabbed a small black bag the victim was holding in his hand, before fleeing in a gray or silver Ford pick-up truck.

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries, including lacerations to his head.

A composite sketch was developed based on the victim’s recollection of events.

Police say the suspect is a 20-30-year-old black male, 6′, 150 lbs, short hair, and multiple tattoos on arms. Wearing diamond earrings in each ear; armed with an unknown black handgun.

Investigators say the suspect was in a Gray/silver newer model Ford pickup truck.

Tampa Police Detectives are now asking our community to look closely at the sketch and see if it resembles someone they may know.
