Tampa Police And Community Partnership Leads To $15K Reward In Fatal Teen Shooting

Reward Increases to $15,000 for Tips Leading to Suspects in the Death of a 17-Year-Old

TAMPA, Fla. – The Tampa Police Department is urging the public to come forward with any information related to a fatal shooting that took place early yesterday morning, which resulted in the death of a teenager and injuries to five others. The reward for information has been significantly increased to up to $15,000.

The shooting occurred just before 1:00 a.m. on September 11, on Woodville Street. Tariq De’Shawn Marshall, 17, was tragically killed, and five men, ages 19 to 22, were injured.

According to detectives, the incident is believed to be the result of a prior dispute and was not a random act of violence.

Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw stated that the investigation has made progress due to tips already received from the community.

“Every piece of information, no matter how small, could be the critical part of solving this case,” Chief Bercaw said. “We need the community to continue to partner with us so we can hold those responsible accountable and ensure we make Tampa safer for everyone.”

The enhanced reward money is a combination of funds from Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay, the Florida Association of Crime Stoppers in partnership with the Florida Office of Attorney General, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE).

The enhanced reward from the Florida Association of Crime Stoppers is available until June 30, 2026. To be eligible for the rewards, tips must be submitted through the Crime Stoppers program and lead to an arrest and conviction.
