TAMPA, Fla. – Tampa police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened late Wednesday afternoon on West Green Street.
Officers responded to the 1900 block of W. Green St. just before 5 p.m. on Feb. 11, 2026, after receiving a report of a shooting. They arrived within three minutes and found a Black male in his mid-60s suffering from a gunshot wound. Tampa Fire Rescue personnel attempted lifesaving measures, but the man died at the scene.
According to the Tampa Police Department, preliminary information indicates the shooting was not a random act of violence. Detectives are collecting evidence, interviewing witnesses and following leads to determine what happened and who is responsible.
