Tampa Police Make Arrest In New Year’s Eve Drive-By Shooting

TAMPA, FL. – An arrest has been made in the New Year’s Eve drive-by shooting in Tampa that injured three people.

Police say on New Year’s Eve, at approximately 4:54 p.m., the suspect, Charles Spigner, 29, was witnessed driving a white sedan within the 8200 block of 17th St N.

Spigner pointed a firearm outside of the window and fired multiple rounds, striking three victims.

All three victims sustained gunshot wounds. Two of them were transported to the hospital. All three victims are expected to be okay.

One of the victims stated they had been shot by the suspect in the past following social media threats.

Through investigative means, detectives were able to identify Spigner as the shooter.

Spigner is charged with two counts of Aggravated Battery Great Bodily Harm and Deadly Weapon, one count of Aggravated Battery Deadly Weapon Firearm-Possession, and one count of Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
