Tampa Police Officer Transported To Hospital After Car Crashes Into His Motorcycle

A Tampa Police officer was injured in a crash Thursday morning, as he was riding his motorcycle eastbound on Adamo Drive.

TAMPA, Fla. – A Tampa Police officer was injured in a crash Thursday morning, as he was riding his motorcycle eastbound on Adamo Drive.

Police say a 54-year-old female driver of a red Honda Accord, crossed southbound along Adamo Drive, cutting in front of the officer, and colliding with the police motorcycle.

The 38-year-old officer was transported to Tampa General Hospital with serious injuries, including a possibly fractured femur.

The driver of the Honda was not injured and remained on the scene, cooperating with the investigation. She will be cited for her role in the crash.

Traffic along Adamo Drive, between N. 22nd St and N. 34th St, is being re-routed as officers complete their investigation.
