TAMPA, Fla. – The westbound lane of East 7th Avenue is closed between North 24th Street and North 23rd Street starting today, Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 9 a.m. The closure is necessary for the Tampa Water Department to conduct emergency repairs following a water main break.

Motorists should expect delays and plan alternative routes, as traffic flow will be impacted in the area. Barricades and signs have been deployed to guide drivers, and the department urges the public to exercise caution when traveling near the work zone.

The Tampa Water Department anticipates the repairs will be completed, and normal traffic patterns will resume, by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, October 24. This schedule, however, is contingent upon favorable weather conditions.

The department noted that while this emergency repair addresses the immediate issue, crews may need to return at a later date to complete additional work.
