Tampa Traffic Alert: Expect Delays And Lane Shifts On West Euclid Avenue Through Friday

TAMPA, Fla. — Drivers in South Tampa should prepare for a slower commute this week as the Tampa Water Department begins essential maintenance on the water distribution system. Starting at 9:00 a.m. today, February 23, a significant traffic shift has been implemented on West Euclid Avenue between South Renellie Drive and West Royal Palm Circle.

While the road remains open, both eastbound and westbound lanes have been shifted to accommodate work crews. The City of Tampa has positioned flaggers and barricades throughout the zone to guide motorists through the new traffic pattern.

Because lane configurations may change as the project progresses, the city is urging drivers to maintain low speeds and exercise extra caution while passing through the work site.

The maintenance is currently scheduled to wrap up by 4:00 p.m. this Friday, February 27, at which point normal traffic flow should resume.

However, this timeline depends entirely on the weather; heavy rain could push the completion date back. To avoid potential bottlenecks, local commuters are encouraged to seek alternate routes, such as West El Prado Boulevard or West Gandy Boulevard, until the area is clear.
