TAMPA, Fla. — Drivers traveling along West El Prado Boulevard will need to plan for daily lane closures beginning Thursday morning while the Tampa Water Department conducts maintenance on the area’s water distribution system.
Starting at 9 a.m. on July 30, crews are shutting down the outside westbound and outside eastbound lanes between South Waverly Place and South Drexel Avenue. The closures will remain in effect every day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Barricades and traffic signs are set up along the route to help guide drivers through the work zone. The city is asking motorists to consider taking alternate routes to avoid delays and to drive with caution in the area. Adjustments to the lane closures may happen while maintenance is underway.
Weather permitting, the Tampa Water Department expects crews to finish the job and restore normal traffic patterns by 4 p.m. on Monday, August 3.
