TAMPA, Fla. – Starting at 9 a.m. today, the northbound lane of South West Shore Boulevard between West Bay Vista Avenue and West Flamingo Road will be closed as the Tampa Water Department begins essential maintenance on the water distribution system.

To mitigate traffic congestion, the double-turn center lane will be temporarily converted into a northbound lane. These lane shifts will be in effect daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. until the project is finished.

Barricades and signs have been placed in the area to guide motorists through the modified traffic patterns. Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes and exercise extreme caution when traveling in the vicinity. The Tampa Water Department notes that modifications to the closure schedule may be necessary depending on the progress of the work.

The project is expected to be completed, and normal traffic patterns restored, by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, September 23, pending favorable weather conditions.
