TAMPA, Fla. — Late-night drivers who rely on Interstate 4 in Hillsborough County will need to adjust their routes next week.
Starting Monday, July 6, construction crews will implement nightly temporary closures on the westbound I-4 ramp to County Line Road (Exit 25). The shutdowns are scheduled to run through Thursday, July 9, lasting from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. each night. Local transportation officials note that the exact timing depends on the weather.
The nightly closures are required so crews can safely pave and resurface the westbound Exit 25 ramp.
Drivers will not be able to access County Line Road directly from the westbound lanes during these hours. Instead, motorists will have to bypass the usual exit and take Exit 22 instead. The designated detour requires drivers to turn left onto Park Road, make another left onto US 92 (Baker Street), and then head east to connect back with County Line Road.
Because the detour sends traffic through local intersections, commuters should plan for extra travel time. Officials are reminding all motorists to slow down, stay alert, and prioritize safety while driving through the active work zone.
