Drivers should plan for detours as crews perform construction on the I-275/I-4 interchange.
TAMPA, Fla. – Commuters traveling southbound on I-275 toward Downtown Tampa should be aware of ongoing nightly ramp closures. The southbound I-275 ramp (Exit 45A) to Downtown East-West (Jefferson Street and Ashley Drive) will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on multiple nights in September.
The closures are scheduled from Sunday, September 7, through Thursday, September 11, and will resume from Sunday, September 14, through Thursday, September 18, weather permitting. These temporary nighttime closures are part of the larger Downtown Tampa Interchange (I-275/I-4) Safety and Operational Improvements project.

Motorists needing to access Downtown Tampa during these hours will be directed to an alternate route. The official detour guides drivers to Exit 46A. From there, they should turn right onto Floribraska Avenue, then make a left onto Tampa Street, and continue south to access Scott Street, Laurel Street, and Cass Street.
Warning signs and electronic message boards will be in place ahead of the closures. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) urges drivers to exercise caution when traveling through the work zone and to remain alert for construction workers and pedestrians.
