TAMPA, Fla. — A section of North Habana Avenue is experiencing lane closures today as utility crews complete maintenance on the local water system.
Beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, the northbound lane of North Habana Avenue will be closed between West Hillsborough Avenue and West Mohawk Avenue. The Tampa Water Department is managing the project to perform scheduled maintenance on the water distribution system in the area.
Barricades and detour signage have been positioned along the route to direct drivers around the work zone. City officials are advising motorists to seek alternative routes to avoid potential delays and to exercise caution when traveling through the surrounding neighborhood.
“Modifications may be necessary during the course of the work,” the Tampa Water Department noted in a press release.
Weather permitting, crews expect to finish the repairs and restore normal traffic patterns by 4:00 p.m. today, Thursday, August 6.
