TAMPA, Fla. – Starting today, Tuesday, November 4, 2025, commuters should anticipate daily lane and sidewalk closures on South MacDill Avenue as the Tampa Water Department conducts permanent repairs following an earlier water main break.

The outside southbound lane, including the adjacent sidewalk, is closed between West San Jose Street and West Palmira Avenue.

🚧Closure Details

  • What: Outside southbound lane and sidewalk closure.
  • Where: South MacDill Avenue, between West San Jose Street and West Palmira Avenue.
  • When: Daily, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., beginning November 4, 2025.
  • Duration: Normal traffic patterns are currently expected to resume by 4 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025.

The closure is necessary as crews continue with a more permanent repair to the water infrastructure. Barricades and signs are in place to direct traffic and assist with flow through the area.

Motorists are advised to use caution when driving near the work zone. The Tampa Water Department reminds the public that work schedules are subject to weather conditions and that modifications may be necessary.
