TAMPA, Fla. – Drivers accessing westbound SR 60 (Memorial Highway) and northbound SR 589 (Veterans Expressway) from Tampa International Airport (TPA) and Spruce Street will need to adjust their nighttime routes as temporary ramp closures are scheduled to continue throughout October.

The closures are in effect from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, on the following date ranges: October 5-9, 12-16, 19-23, and 26-30, weather permitting. These restrictions are necessary to allow crews to perform final paving operations related to the ongoing widening project of westbound SR 60 near the airport.

Detour Routes Established

To minimize disruption, detours have been clearly marked to guide motorists around the work zone:

  • Motorists exiting TPA will utilize the Spruce Street ramp (staying right at the fork). They will continue eastbound on Spruce Street, turn right onto Westshore Boulevard, turn right onto Kennedy Boulevard, and then proceed north to access the SR 60 and SR 589 ramps.
  • Motorists traveling westbound on Spruce Street will follow a similar detour, using Westshore Boulevard and Kennedy Boulevard to reach SR 60 (Memorial Highway) and SR 589 (Veterans Expressway).
