TAMPA, Fla. – Drivers traveling on East 21st Avenue should prepare for delays as the eastbound lane is closed between North Nebraska Avenue and North 10th Street beginning today at 9 a.m.

The lane closure is necessary for the Tampa Water Department to repair a broken water main in the area.

Barricades and signs are in place to help direct traffic around the work zone. Drivers are urged to use caution when navigating the area.

The Tampa Water Department anticipates the work will be completed and normal traffic patterns restored by 4 p.m. on Friday, October 17, though work schedules are contingent on weather conditions. The department noted that modifications to the schedule may be necessary as the repair progresses.

While the current main break repair is expected to wrap up this week, the Tampa Water Department may need to return at a later date for additional work, and an update will be provided if that is necessary.
