Tampa Water Department expects repairs to be completed by Wednesday afternoon
TAMPA, Fla. – Starting today, July 21, 2025, at 9 AM, the outside northbound lane of South 50th Street is closed to traffic between South 20th Avenue and South 24th Avenue. The closure is necessary for the Tampa Water Department to repair a water main break in the area.
Barricades and signs are in place to help direct traffic flow, officials say.
Motorists are advised to use caution when driving through the affected section of South 50th Street. The Tampa Water Department also noted that modifications to the work schedule might be necessary as repairs progress.

The department anticipates that the work will be completed, and normal traffic patterns will resume by 4 PM on Wednesday, July 23. However, all work schedules are dependent on weather conditions.
