TAMPA, Fla. – Drivers in Tampa should be aware of a full road closure on East Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, which started at 8 p.m. tonight. The closure will affect the stretch of MLK Boulevard between North 42nd Street and East Lake Avenue.

The Tampa Water Department is initiating emergency repairs on a water main break in the area, necessitating the complete closure of the roadway. Barricades and signage will be in place to direct traffic around the affected area.

Motorists are urged to exercise caution and seek alternate routes when traveling in this vicinity. Drivers should anticipate potential traffic delays and plan their commutes accordingly. Modifications to the closure may be necessary as the repair work progresses.

The Tampa Water Department anticipates the repairs and return to normal traffic flow by 5 p.m. on Thursday, January 30th. However, the department notes that they may need to return at a later date to complete additional work.
