TAMPA, Fla. — The Tampa Water Department will close the outside southbound lane of North 40th Street between East Grove Street and East Paris Street to repair a water main break. The closure will begin at 9 a.m. today, April 29, 2026.

While the department expects to finish repairs and restore normal traffic patterns by 4 p.m. on Friday, May 1, officials noted that work schedules remain contingent on weather conditions.

Further modifications to the site may be necessary as the project moves forward. Additionally, the Tampa Water Department indicated they may need to return to this location at a later date for follow-up work, and updates will be provided if that occurs.
