TAMPA, Fla. — Drivers in Tampa should plan for delays and detours over the next few days following a significant water main break on Monday.

The Tampa Water Department has closed all lanes on North 34th Street between East Giddens Avenue and East Hillsborough Avenue to conduct emergency repairs. The closure is effective immediately, with barricades and signage currently in place to divert traffic away from the work zone.

City officials estimate the repairs will take roughly 48 hours. If the weather cooperates and the work goes according to plan, normal traffic patterns are expected to resume by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3.
