TAMPA, Fla. — Drivers heading north on South 50th Street should prepare for delays over the next few days.
Starting at 9 a.m. Wednesday, the Tampa Water Department shut down the outside northbound lane between South 16th Avenue and South 20th Avenue to repair a broken water main.
Crews are on-site now, and barricades are in place to guide traffic around the work zone. Officials are asking motorists to slow down and stay alert while navigating the shifted lanes.

The repairs are expected to wrap up by 4 p.m. on Friday, January 16, assuming the weather holds up. Normal traffic patterns should resume just in time for the evening rush hour.
