TAMPA, Fla. — The Tampa Water Department has implemented a full road closure on East Columbus Drive between North 27th Street and North 28th Street effective Friday, February 6, 2026. This closure is to allow crews to perform additional repairs following a previous water main break in the area.

City officials have placed barricades and directional signage throughout the vicinity to manage the flow of traffic. Drivers traveling through the area are asked to exercise caution and remain observant of changing conditions, as work-site modifications may occur while repairs are underway.

According to the department’s current schedule, the work is expected to be completed and normal traffic patterns restored by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, February 9. However, this timeline remains contingent upon favorable weather conditions.

The Tampa Water Department noted that further work may be necessary at a future date to fully resolve the issue. If additional closures are required, the city will provide a subsequent update.
