TAMPA, Fla. — Westbound drivers traveling through East 7th Avenue will need to navigate lane closures and detours between North 31st Street and North 27th Street starting at 9 a.m. Sunday, August 30, city officials announced.
The disruption comes as crews from the Tampa Water Department perform scheduled maintenance on the area’s water distribution network.
Both westbound lanes along the four-block stretch are closed to normal traffic. To keep vehicles moving, officials have temporarily shifted westbound drivers onto the inner eastbound lane.
Barricades, directional markers, and warning signs are stationed throughout the corridor to guide motorists through the modified traffic pattern.
City officials advised drivers to seek alternative routes to bypass the congestion, drive cautiously through the active work zone, and prepare for potential changes to the closure setup as maintenance progresses.
Weather permitting, utility crews expect to wrap up the project and restore normal traffic flow by 5 p.m. on Monday, August 31.
