Tampa Traffic Alert: Westbound Causeway Blvd. Squeezed To One Lane Until 4 PM Today

TAMPA, Fla. – Drivers and pedestrians on Causeway Boulevard face a tighter commute today. Starting at 9 a.m., the Tampa Water Department closed the outside westbound lane between South 82nd Street and South 86th Street to complete a restoration project.

The sidewalk running alongside this portion of the road is also closed to the public. To manage the traffic flow and guide pedestrians around the construction zone, crews have set up signs and barricades throughout the area.

City officials are asking drivers to look for alternate routes to avoid delays or to use extra caution if they must pass through the work zone.

The water department expects to wrap up the project and restore traffic to normal by 4 p.m. this afternoon.

However, managers noted that the schedule depends entirely on local weather conditions and that workers may need to adjust lane closures as the job progresses.
