Tampa Water Department Expects Work to Conclude by Friday Afternoon; Motorists Advised to Seek Alternate Routes
TAMPA, Fla. – Motorists traveling on East Waters Avenue should anticipate delays starting today, July 29, 2025, as the westbound lane between North 12th Street and North Alaska Street has been closed for emergency water main repairs. The closure, which began at 9:00 AM, is being managed by the Tampa Water Department.
Crews are actively working to address a significant water main break in the area. Barricades and flaggers have been deployed to assist with traffic flow and ensure the safety of both workers and drivers.

The Tampa Water Department urges all motorists to exercise extreme caution when navigating through the affected stretch of East Waters Avenue.
The repair work is anticipated to be completed by 4:00 PM on Friday, August 1, at which point normal traffic patterns are expected to resume. However, the completion timeline is contingent upon prevailing weather conditions.
