TAMPA, Fla. – Motorists traveling on South Westshore Boulevard in Tampa should be prepared for intermittent lane closures starting today, March 13, 2025. The Tampa Water Department will be conducting maintenance on the water distribution system between West Longfellow Avenue and West Leona Street.
Beginning at 9 a.m. today, both northbound and southbound lanes will experience intermittent closures. Barricades and flaggers will be present to assist with traffic rerouting and maintain flow.

The lane closures will be in effect daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with all lanes reopening to normal traffic patterns each evening. The closures will resume the following morning at 9 a.m. to continue the necessary maintenance work.
The project is expected to be completed and normal traffic flow restored by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18th. However, work schedules are subject to change depending on weather conditions.
The Tampa Water Department urges drivers to exercise caution when traveling through the affected area. They also express their appreciation for the public’s patience during this essential maintenance work.
