HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A late-night delivery turned violent last week in Town ’n’ Country, leading to the arrest of a 30-year-old suspect. Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office deputies took Daniel Eckstein into custody at 12:48 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026, following a two-day investigation into a strong-arm robbery.
The incident unfolded on Wednesday along Sheldon Road. An Uber Eats delivery driver had temporarily pulled over to check directions on his route when the encounter occurred.
According to sheriff’s deputies, Eckstein approached the victim, violently shoved him off his electric bicycle, and struck him multiple times. After the physical assault, Eckstein took the electric bike, loaded it into a nearby U-Haul, and fled the area.
Detectives later identified Eckstein as the individual responsible for the attack. He was tracked down and arrested early Friday morning.
