TAMPA, Fla. – The Tampa Water Department is advising motorists of upcoming road closures and lane restrictions in two areas of the city beginning today. These closures are necessary to facilitate essential water main repairs and maintenance.
Full Road Closure on East 7th Avenue
East 7th Avenue will be fully closed between North 27th Street and North 26th Street starting at 9:00 AM today. This closure will allow crews to perform scheduled maintenance on the water distribution system.
- Detour: Drivers are advised to utilize alternate routes and follow posted detours.
- Duration: The closure will be in effect daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with all lanes reopening to traffic each evening. The work is expected to be completed by 5:00 PM on Friday, January 10th.

Lane Closures on North 34th Street
Both southbound lanes on North 34th Street will be closed between East 7th Avenue and East 5th Avenue starting at 9:00 AM today. This closure is necessary for crews to repair a water main break.
Duration: The closure is expected to last until 4:00 PM on Monday, January 13th.
Traffic Flow: Northbound lanes will remain open, but southbound traffic will be detoured. Drivers should expect delays and follow posted detours.
