Tampa Woman Dies After Drunken Motorcyclist Crashes On Florida Highway

TAMPA, Fla. – A woman is dead, and a man has been arrested after driving a motorcycle drunk.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, around 4:09 am Saturday, a Yamaha YZF-R1 motorcycle was traveling northbound on I-275 and exited onto eastbound I-4.

Troopers say the rider lost control and collided with a guardrail adjacent to the roadway on the inside shoulder.

A passenger riding on the motorcycle, a 29-year-old Tampa woman, suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital where she later died.

The rider, Jonathon Mark Wing, 37, of Tampa, suffered minor injuries, was determined to be impaired, and was later arrested by FHP Troopers for DUI Manslaughter.
