Arrested for aggravated assault and improper exhibition of a firearm, Stefano Napolitano now faces additional counts of drug possession.
MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – A 40-year-old Tavernier man arrested Sunday following a road rage incident involving the display of a loaded handgun on U.S. 1 is now facing multiple drug charges in addition to the initial assault and firearm offenses.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
Stefano Napolitano was initially taken into custody after an adult male victim reported that Napolitano displayed a .40-caliber Glock handgun during a confrontation near Mile Marker 97 at approximately 10:30 a.m.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office located and stopped Napolitano’s vehicle near the Tavernier Creek Bridge. Authorities stated that Napolitano admitted to displaying the firearm.
Following his arrest, Napolitano was also charged with possession of 8.1 grams of methamphetamine, possession of synthetic THC, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to jail.
The initial charges against Napolitano included aggravated assault and improper exhibition of a firearm. The new drug-related charges add further legal complications to the case.
