Teen Driver Slams SUV Into Clearwater Home After High-Speed Crash

CLEARWATER, Fla. – A 15-year-old boy from Clearwater was hospitalized Tuesday night after losing control of a speeding SUV and crashing into a local residence, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

State troopers reported that the incident occurred around 10:00 PM on May 26, 2026. The teenager was driving a Dodge Durango northbound on South Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue at what investigators described as a ‘high rate’ of speed.

Near the intersection of Hall Street, the driver lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road. The SUV struck several traffic control devices and utility fixtures before barreling onto the property located at 1642 South Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue.

The vehicle’s path ended when the teenager collided with the house itself, additionally striking a parked vehicle on the property.

Emergency responders transported the 15-year-old to an area hospital. Authorities confirmed that the driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.
