Teen Grazed By Bullet In Tampa Park Shooting; Police Hunt Suspect

TAMPA, Fla. – A gathering of teenagers at a local park near the intersection of East Cayuga Street and North 30th Street turned violent late this afternoon, resulting in a female teen sustaining minor injuries after being grazed by a bullet.

The incident occurred around 4:05 p.m. when a group of 20 to 30 teens was gathered at a nearby park. Preliminary investigations by the Tampa Police Department (TPD) indicate that one of the teens present fired a shot.

Immediate Response and Victim Transport

TPD officers were dispatched to the location following reports of shots being fired and made immediate contact with the victim. The female, described as being in her mid-teens, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of her minor injuries.

Ongoing Investigation and Strong Leads

Detectives are actively investigating the circumstances that led to the shooting. A TPD spokesperson confirmed that the department is following strong leads to identify and arrest a possible person of interest in connection with the incident.

The police have not yet released any further details on the suspected shooter or what may have precipitated the violence within the large gathering of teenagers.
