A multi-state manhunt ended today with the arrest of a Tennessee man in Michigan who is wanted for his alleged role in the kidnapping of an Alabama real estate agent.
Toure Laron McLaurin, 34, of Memphis, was taken into custody at approximately 5:30 a.m. in Lansing, Michigan. The arrest was carried out by the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force, the U.S. Marshals Special Operations Group, and deputy U.S. marshals from the Western District of Michigan. Following his arrest, McLaurin was transported to the Ingham County Correctional Facility in Mason, Michigan.
McLaurin faces warrants out of Huntsville, Alabama, for first-degree kidnapping and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. He is also wanted in Shelby County, Tennessee, for probation violations tied to a prior aggravated robbery conviction.
Authorities identified McLaurin as one of five individuals involved in the kidnapping of Ronald Leslie Dumas Jr., 37, a Huntsville realtor and father of three. Dumas was last seen on Dec. 15, 2024.
The timeline of the investigation began when Huntsville police filed a missing persons report for Dumas on Dec. 17, 2024. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) subsequently added him to its Missing Persons List on Dec. 23. On Feb. 7, 2025, investigators upgraded the missing adult alert to a missing and endangered person alert after discovering evidence that Dumas had been abducted and was in danger of physical harm or death.
Following these developments, Huntsville police issued arrest warrants in February 2025 for McLaurin and four other suspects: Quintarius Shikelion White, Kierra Symone Clark, Carissa Cash, and Sabrina Rochelle Chambers.
McLaurin is the third suspect to be apprehended in connection with the case. In April 2025, U.S. Marshals, Memphis police, and the Shelby County Fugitive Apprehension Team arrested Clark and White in Memphis.
The remaining two suspects, Chambers and Cash, have not yet been located and remain at large.
