POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A 23-year-old Bowling Green man was arrested late Wednesday night following a traffic incident at the intersection of 1st Street NW and Charleston Avenue, with a 3-month-old infant present in the vehicle.
The incident occurred at 10:43 p.m. on Wednesday, October 29, when a bronze Chevy Silverado pickup truck reportedly ran a stop sign. The vehicle then performed a maneuver described as a “burnout,” causing the tires to squeal and leading to a near-collision with another vehicle in the roadway.
A Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) deputy witnessed the event and initiated a traffic stop.
The driver was identified as Brandon Mac Coxville of Bowling Green. Coxville informed the deputy that he had recently purchased the truck and was “testing it out.”
The investigation revealed that Coxville had recently relocated to Florida from Tennessee and was operating the vehicle without a valid driver’s license. A 3-month-old infant was found to be a passenger in the truck at the time of the incident.
Brandon Coxville was taken to the Sheriff’s Processing Center and charged with: Negligent Child Abuse, Reckless Driving, Driving with an Invalid License from Another State, and Violation of Non-Resident Requirements for DL.
