A casual evening at a Homestead restaurant turned violent last Thursday when a woman allegedly opened fire on three strangers, leaving two victims hospitalized and the shooter behind bars.
Samantha Morales, 34, is currently being held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center following an appearance before a judge on Monday.
The incident unfolded on the night of April 17 outside Dr. Limon, where three women were standing on the sidewalk saying their goodbyes.
According to police reports, Morales pulled up to the group in a black Tesla despite having no prior connection to them. One witness recalled Morales initiating the encounter by asking, “You all good?”
When one of the women replied, “Yes, we good. Are you good?” the interaction immediately soured. Morales allegedly snapped back, “Yes, b***h, but it looks like you have a problem,” before stepping out of her vehicle and challenging the group by asking, “What are you gonna do about it?”

The situation escalated rapidly. While the women verbally confronted Morales, a nearby witness shouted for them to move away because Morales was armed.
Moments later, two shots were fired, striking two of the women. In a desperate attempt to stop the violence, one of the victims lunged at Morales to wrestle the gun away, sparking a physical struggle that lasted until officers arrived to separate them.
Following her arrest, Morales told investigators she couldn’t recall the specifics of the encounter, stating only that she felt she was “fighting for her life.” However, police noted that she admitted to consuming three alcoholic beverages prior to the shooting.
Morales now faces a heavy list of charges, including two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and three counts of aggravated assault with a firearm. Both shooting victims are reported to be in stable condition.
A court appearance is set for Wednesday, with a formal arraignment scheduled for May 18.
